Wellauer Bathroom

This Wauwatosa home received a master suite addition decades ago and it was time for the bathroom to be remodeled. Previously, the bathroom felt very small with a walled-off square shower, linen closet, and soffit over the vanity. By removing these elements, we truly opened up the space and created a larger bathroom. The homeowners wanted to remove the window in the bathroom because it opened to an enclosed porch. To keep natural light in the space, we added a Solatube which brightens the space day or night.

By removing walls, we were able to give the homeowners a larger shower that was visually elongated by the horizontal niche. The herringbone pattern on the floor is picked up with the marble herringbone tile on the back of the shower niche. The quartz vanity top is continued as the shelf of the shower niche then seamlessly transitioned to the top of the half wall. The shower features a toe niche, rainhead and handshower along with a barn style sliding shower door.
