Rubicon River Project

Built in 1952 and extremely outdated, this home created a small and congested atmosphere that was not working for this young family. The homeowners wanted to open up the entire house and add more square footage to the overall size. By eliminating all of the interior walls and reconfiguring the layout, the home went from being confined to open. The kitchen became more spacious, offering peninsula seating that opens to the dining and living room areas. Stained alder cabinetry was installed, as well as maple hardwood flooring to complete the kitchen and dining room.

The master bedroom was converted to a master suite, with its’ own private bath including quartz countertops and a walk-in closet. Two additional bathrooms were added, as well as a laundry & mudroom to serve the first floor. A large heated attached garage was added with its own private stairwell to the basement. The rear of the home was fitted with a large, elevated deck overlooking the wetlands. Now, with an abundance of natural light and cathedral ceilings, this small and confined home is more functional and breathable.
