A member of the Story Hill Renovations team will arrive at your home for a complimentary consultation (COVID-19 Update). We will take a look at the space, talk about your goals, and evaluate a realistic budget and timeframe for your project. The Story Hill team member will determine the appropriate consultation fee based on the scope of your project.
Once you decide to move forward with Story Hill, your team member will take photos, detailed measurements and ask more in-depth questions about your wants and needs.
We will prepare a design presentation, either in person or virtually, where our Interior Designer will walk you through the design for your project and your team member we will review the schedule of values and suggested investment amount.
Once the design proposal and schedule of values has been approved, we move into the design development phase. This phase requires a 4% deposit down based on the suggested investment amount within your schedule of values proposal. During this phase, you will be set up with a BuilderTrend account and work directly with our Interior Designer to create the space that is right for you. We will take the initial proposal and make all the necessary revisions based on your feedback. At the end of this phase, every detail of your project will be selected so we can move to pricing out the project accordingly.
Once we have completed the design development phase, we conduct a trade review. This allows our trade partners to see the existing conditions along with the proposed design so they can assemble an accurate bid for your project. We use these bids and all final pricing to write the final construction contract for your approval.
With the contract signed, we begin ordering materials and scheduling your project on BuilderTrend. We begin all projects with a pre-construction meeting one week prior to demo. We schedule weekly meetings on-site or virtually with your project manager, send weekly updates on the progress made and what is still to come. Your Story Hill team member, Interior Designer, and Project Manager will be with you every step of the way to ensure your project is going according to plan as efficiently as possible.
After your project is completed and every last punch list item is taken care of, we schedule a project completion meeting to review the process with you. We truly want to know our clients’ opinions, what works, and how we can improve. We then follow up 11 months after your project is completed to check on how the space is working for you.
The following indicates the average timeframes you can expect for a remodeling project in your home. These timeframes can vary greatly depending on the size and scope of your project, as well as many other key components that can play into them.
Kitchen: 12-16 weeks
Bathroom: 8-12 weeks
Basement: 8-14 weeks
Addition: 3-6 months
