The original 1968 kitchen felt cramped and disjointed. They wanted to create a multi-functional kitchen that gave them space to entertain, cook and dine as a family both casually and formally. The main wall, dividing the kitchen and the formal dining room, was eliminated to create a large spacious kitchen with more than enough storage and space for a family of four. The new vernacular style was created with knotty alder cabinetry, glass and copper tile, and custom details like the bespoke walnut butcher block.
