THE PROCESS: FROM IDEATION TO ENJOYING YOUR SPACE.

1 — YOU HAVE AN IDEA

You may not know if it can be done, how much it will cost, or how long it will take.

2 — CONTACT US

The first step to making your house your home is to fill out our contact form or give us a ring at 414-209-1988. We will answer any questions you may have and determine how to best assist you with your project. From there, we will schedule the initial consultation.

3 — INITIAL CONSULTATION

A member of the Story Hill Renovations team will arrive at your home for a complimentary consultation. We will take a look at the space, talk about your goals and evaluate a realistic budget and timeframe for your project. Your Story Hill team member will follow up with you shortly after the consultation with a Design Agreement and associated design fee in order to proceed to Design Development based on the scope of work and suggested initial investment amount.

4 — DESIGN DEVELOPMENT

Once you decide to move forward with Story Hill and the Design Agreement has been approved, we move into the Design Development phase and the excitement begins. During this phase, you will be set up with a BuilderTrend account and begin to work directly with your dedicated Interior Designer to begin creating the space that is right for you. At your first meeting, you will be presented with a Design Schedule outlining the meetings and timeline for completing this phase. At this initial meeting, your Interior Designer will further discuss your vision and take detailed photos and measurements. At the end of this phase, every detail of your project will be planned and selected so we can move into pricing out the project accordingly and scheduling a trade review.

5 — TRADE REVIEW

Once we have completed the design development phase, we conduct a trade review. This allows our trade partners to see the existing conditions along with the proposed design and selections so they can assemble an accurate bid for your project. We use these bids and all final pricing to write the final construction contract. We then sit down with you and have a contract budget review meeting prior to signing the final construction contract.

6 — CONSTRUCTION

With the contract signed, we begin ordering materials and scheduling your project on BuilderTrend. We begin all projects with a pre-construction meeting one week prior to demo. We schedule weekly meetings on-site or virtually with your project manager, send weekly updates on the progress made and what is still to come. Your Story Hill team member, Interior Designer, and Project Manager will be with you every step of the way to ensure your project is going according to plan as efficiently as possible.

7 — BEAUTIFUL NEW SPACE

After your project is completed and every last punch list item is taken care of, we schedule a project completion meeting to review the process with you. We truly want to know our clients’ opinions, what works, and how we can improve. We then follow up 11 months after your project is completed to check on how the space is working for you.

 

Timeline

The following indicates the average timeline you can expect for a remodeling project in your home. These timelines can vary greatly depending on the size and scope of your project, as well as many other key components that can play into them.

CONSTRUCTION PHASE TIMELINES

Kitchen: 12 – 16 weeks
Bathroom: 8 – 12 weeks
Basement: 8 – 14 weeks
Whole House: 4 – 6 months

Budget

Every home and remodeling project is unique; this makes it challenging to provide a budget estimate from the onset. However, based on experience and recent projects, the investments by project are below to use as a guideline for your project.
