Enderis Park

The owners of a 1935 Tudor wanted to update the first floor of their home to fit their lifestyle and elevate functionality. In the back of the house, a bedroom, hallway, sitting room and small bathroom were reconfigured to achieve their vision. We transformed the sitting room into a primary bath with aging-in-place features as well as indulgent luxuries. The walk-in shower features a bench seat, body spray and rainhead fixtures, and wrap-around porcelain tile that mimics marble. A towel warmer, freestanding tub, custom-built cabinetry, walk-in closet and double vanity provide conveniences the couple was looking for.

To make the most of a compact kitchen while creating a better flow for guests, the owners chose to work with existing custom-made cabinets, replacing some and adapting others to fit new Wolf and Sub-Zero appliances. New hardware freshened the look.

We transformed the kitchen’s look and feel by creating focal points and adding touches to complement the home’s character, including terrazzo-style porcelain tile flooring, accent tiles around the pasta-pot filler and subway-style backsplash tiles. To create more space for entertaining, an adjacent sunroom was redesigned as an eating area with a built-in buffet.

Finally, space from the original first-floor bathroom was reallocated to create closet space, leaving a lovely power room transformed with new fixtures, William Morris & Co. wallpaper and bead board painted a deep gray-green.
