Donges Bay Project

Silver Award Winner | Residential Kitchen

After living in this home for 16 years, this family decided it was time to update the 1980’s kitchen. The two major complaints were the lack of organization in the old impractical cabinets and the peninsula with overhead cabinetry that divided the eat-in area from the actual kitchen. When we removed the peninsula, we not only were able to relocate the double ovens, we created a walkway between the dining space and the main kitchen area.

The new arched opening created an elegant frame for the new kitchen design. We repeated the arch in various ways throughout the kitchen, including the bookshelf at the end of the island. One major request was to have built-in organization in the cabinetry. During the design process, we walked through the kitchen, cabinet by cabinet, to organize each piece.
