Buckley Park Kitchen

2018 Award Winner

This Tudor-style home has many of the original architectural elements throughout the home though the kitchen was not one of them. We removed a hall closet to gain space inside the kitchen itself. This allowed us to open the floor plan and add an island. The main kitchen flows well with white cabinetry along the perimeter, a paneled hood, and appliances as well as a custom blue island.

The matte white backsplash adds texture and contrast in a subtle way to the white cabinets and polished quartz countertop. We kept the original Tudor leaded glass casement windows and added brass screens, so the family could finally open them. We maintained an eating area and incorporated it into the rest of the kitchen with bench seating. In the closet area, we moved the refrigerator and added a landing zone that stood six inches taller than the rest of the kitchen.
