Damon Woods Project

The homeowners desired a functional kitchen that matched the style of their Mediterranean home. We designed the kitchen around three elements: a copper hood, a blue island with seating for their children, and a custom backsplash. The result is a clean, well-organized kitchen with room to cook, eat and entertain. We used a handmade tile from Portland, OR for the backsplash and added a custom accent piece above the range.

We accentuated the height of the room by removing the soffit and adding transom cabinets. To create a useable kitchen, we moved the range to the exterior window wall and closed up the window. With the finish selections, the kitchen feels brighter and larger than it did with a third window. We also adjusted the powder room that is connected to the kitchen. We straightened out the wall and created a simple powder room complete with handmade terracotta tiles.
