Our Enderis Park renovation was honored with a 2024 Remodeler of the Year Gold Award from NARI Milwaukee, recognizing a project that thoughtfully reimagines a 1935 Tudor for modern living while preserving its historic character. The home was also featured by This Old House, highlighting the care taken to balance heritage and function throughout the renovation.
The first floor was fully renovated to support the homeowners’ empty-nester lifestyle, improving flow, accessibility, and everyday comfort. The kitchen was redesigned to honor 1930s design with a modern twist—replacing the existing peninsula with a central island, converting the sunroom into a light-filled dining space, and introducing a layout ideal for entertaining.
Historic materials and details anchor the space, including black-and-white checkered flooring, red oak custom inset cabinetry, and a classic subway tile backsplash. These elements are layered with modern conveniences such as stainless steel appliances from Sub-Zero, Wolf, and Cove, a hidden walk-in pantry, and a thoughtful mix of brushed nickel and matte black finishes that nod to the era’s original cast iron details.
Beyond the kitchen, the first floor was reimagined to create a cohesive primary suite, powder room, and laundry closet—allowing the homeowners to live comfortably on one level. Each space was designed to feel intentional and integrated, supporting long-term livability without disrupting the home’s original Tudor charm.
This Enderis Park project stands as an example of how historic homes can be adapted for modern life with respect and restraint. Its recognition by NARI Milwaukee and feature by This Old House reflect a shared appreciation for renovation that feels both timeless and deeply livable.
