The typical bungalow kitchen is outdated and lacks functionality for a modern family. We completed a major overhaul of this space to add a mudroom area and seating while creating a gorgeous simple space that pays homage to the home’s architecture and original details.
The first step in this renovation was to reconfigure the stairs. We kept the landing and second run in the same location but rotated the bottom run to create u-shape stairs. This allowed us to utilize a new wall in the kitchen and create the main chef’s area.
We took up space from the back bedroom to create a new built-in linen cabinet for the hallway, new pantry and refrigerator space and discretely add significant storage for a mudroom. The back bedroom is now the perfect home office complete with a French door.
