Oehmcke House

When the homeowners purchased this 1949 colonial, they had the vision to transform the traditional closed-off spaces into a modern layout in their forever home. We took the traditional dining room and opened it up to the kitchen area, burying the load-bearing header in the ceiling. We converted the informal eating area into a large mudroom with beautiful new French doors allowing a continuous vista from the front of the home to the back.

Our modern approach included custom white oak cabinetry paired with tonal handmade tile and subtle quartz countertops. We contrasted the white oak with dark oak accents as well as pairing brass with matte black finishes. The custom kitchen was designed around the homeowner’s needs including a place to hide the microwave and a docking station for the robotic vacuum under the island.
