Elegant Milwaukee Bath

Milwaukee Guest Bath with Early 20th-Century Craftsmanship

This quietly elegant guest bathroom draws its inspiration from early 20th-century design, reflecting the era’s emphasis on craftsmanship, proportion, and enduring materials. Here, Story Hill Renovations introduced custom-painted millwork, a finely proportioned medicine cabinet, and classic white subway tile that wraps the room with timeless simplicity. The hex mosaic floor and inset tile niche subtly reference period bath design, while warm brass plumbing and lighting add a soft layer of contrast. A blue-gray beadboard, carefully color-matched to the surrounding tile, adds depth and cohesion and is historically appropriate for a home of this era. Notably, the porcelain-enameled cast iron tub is the one original element retained from the 1922 home, thoughtfully preserved and integrated into the new design as a tangible link to the bathroom’s past within an otherwise fully updated space.
