Located in Wauwatosa’s Olde Hillcrest neighborhood, the Craftsman-style home retains many original details, including hardwood floors, arched pocket doors and distinctive tile. The kitchen, however, hadn’t been remodeled since the 1970s and no longer felt connected to the home or suited the way homeowners Steven and De cook and entertain.
After imagining their dream kitchen for decades, the homeowners partnered with Story Hill Renovations to create a space that would feel luxurious and highly functional without sacrificing the home’s historic character.
Our design-build team reimagined the layout with improved flow, generous workspace and nearly twice the original storage. Custom cabinetry, rare red gum millwork and a carefully constructed arched opening connect the new kitchen to the home’s original craftsmanship. Taj Mahal countertops, marble flooring, antiqued brass hardware and vintage lighting collected by the homeowners create a refined, personal atmosphere.
The result reflects what a luxury renovation experience should be: deeply collaborative, thoughtfully managed and tailored to both the homeowners and the architecture.
