Jennings Park Addition

The owners of this Wauwatosa Colonial loved their neighborhood and the character of their home, but they were ready for more space. Originally from Florida, their design style celebrates vibrant, joyful color! They hoped to bring their love for color into their Wisconsin home. Story Hill Renovations was tasked with expanding and reimagining the second floor in a way that honored the home’s traditional architecture while weaving in that bright, uplifting personality.

The addition transformed the entire upper level, creating a new primary suite anchored by four expansive windows, statement light pendants framing the bed, and a generous walk-in closet. The primary bathroom layers soothing shades of blue with a playful wallpapered toilet niche that adds a burst of color and charm. Down the hall, the kids’ bathroom embraces bold hues and whimsical wallpaper, turning daily routines into moments of delight.

Throughout the home, new windows, doors, and thoughtful spatial reconfiguration improved both flow and functionality for this busy family. Outside, the refreshed façade features updated windows and doors, along with a subtle Southern nod: a soft haint-blue ceiling above the front stoop and back patio, a timeless detail traditionally used to deter bees from nesting.

This addition delivered the extra space the family needed while infusing their home with joyful color and renewed life, blending Florida brightness with the enduring character of a classic Wisconsin Colonial.
