This award-winning modern kitchen renovation in Milwaukee transformed a dated, inefficient space into a functional kitchen that better complements the style of the entire home. Recognized as an award-winning residential kitchen, the project was completed by Story Hill Renovations, named MKE Lifestyle’s 2023 Readers’ Choice Remodeler of the Year. Our design-build team reconfigured the kitchen layout, removing outdated columns and an impractical island to improve flow, storage and everyday usability. The redesigned island offers multiple seating options, while thoughtfully planned storage solutions make the kitchen feel more spacious, organized and connected to the surrounding living areas.
A combination of painted and stained custom kitchen cabinetry brings warmth, depth and visual interest to the modern design. Quartz countertops in complementary tones pair with a rustic tile backsplash, balancing clean lines with inviting texture. Warm brass and matte-black fixtures add contrast while coordinating with the cabinetry and finishes throughout the space. Together, these carefully selected materials create a sophisticated yet comfortable kitchen designed for cooking, entertaining and everyday living—showcasing the high-end design and craftsmanship that earned the project and remodeling team local recognition.
